Romans 8:12-17 | Heirs with Christ

As we continue our study of Romans 8:12-17, Paul describes the practical implications of our spiritual status as sons and daughters of the Most High. He tells us that through the power of the Gospel, there has been a radical transformation that has taken place in our lives so that when we were saved, we became part of God's family. In our lost estate, we were “the children of the devil” and the “sons of disobedience.” Now, however, by grace, we have become “members of the household of God.” This is amazing news to be sure! And it is all connected to the fact that as Paul says in this passage God has spiritually adopted us. As J.I. Packer puts it, “The revelation to the believer that God is his father is in a sense the climax of the Bible.” Join us as we continue to study God’s amazing revelation to us that through Christ we are adopted as sons and daughters of God!
