Luke 23:26-56 | "Jesus Died on a Cross"
The love of God can most clearly be seen in the final moments of Jesus’ life. The suffering servant that Isaiah prophesied about hundreds of years earlier, Jesus, our coming Savior and King, dies. What seemed like sure defeat was part of his greatest victory. He had remained obedient even to the point of death. God had given His one and only Son that you and I might be made children of God. Sin had been atoned for, death, hell, and the grave were next on Jesus’ list. “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5)
