Our Dedication to Scripture

When God’s people are fed God’s word, the church grows in health and vitality, Christians grow in their relationship with God, and the Gospel is preached. As a church, we are firmly rooted in the Truth of God’s Word. This means we teach what the Bible teaches and are committed to the doctrine of Sola Scriptura, “Scripture alone”.

If you are seeking truth or looking for a church home that’s firmly rooted in the Truth of God’s Word, you are invited to check out Evident Church.

The False Belief of Salvation by Works

We must faithfully preach and teach the whole counsel of God—we must never deviate from the truth of Scripture. We must never yield to the temptation to remove the block of stumbling, or cave to the impulse to entertain for the sake of acceptance. We must preach the block of stumbling and the stone of offense—we must preach Christ and Him crucified. Moreover, we must remember, as Paul has told us, “whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame”

Romans 9:1-29 | The Potter’s Freedom

Often considered one of the most challenging passages in the Bible, Romans 9 brings us face to face with the question of who is in charge of our salvation—us or God? Do we choose God or does God choose us? Paul has spent 8 chapters dealing with the glory and security of salvation. Now, he is going to address God’s sovereignty and man’s responsibility in salvation.

ROMANS 8:31-39 | Can Anything Separate You From The Love Of God?

Paul concludes Romans 8 on a crescendo. Having just shared the enormous comfort that is ours in Christ amidst all that we will experience in life, he now celebrates these grand realties. Here he even challenges the whole moral universe with six crucial questions. He asks in light of what God has done for us in Christ, who could possibly do anything to overturn or thwart His great work on our behalf? He answers by telling us: no one!

ROMANS 8:29-30 | Foreknowledge, Predestination, & The Work Of God In Salvation

In the next section of Romans, Paul begins to unpack what it means to be one who is "called according to God's purpose". These verses lay out what’s called the ordo salutis (a Latin term which speaks about the order of the causes and effects in our salvation). The ordo salutis does not list every theological point concerning our salvation. For example, Paul here does not mention regeneration, repentance, faith, or sanctification. Still, the ones he does mention are some of the central doctrines in the matter. This text has been called the golden chain of salvation. It describes God’s work in salvation from beginning to end.
