The Bigger Story

THE DREAM

“Everything is conceptual until it’s reality.” Chad Asman (Architect), RLS Studio

For the past 9 years we’ve been praying for 24/7 space as a home and ministry tool for our church. God has been providing in crazy ways and we are so excited about the dreams and future of Evident. We imagine the hundreds and thousands of lives that will be touched and changed by God through the ministry of Evident. Words cannot express how thankful I am to God for his grace in this season. He is blessing us beyond our ability to imagine (Eph 3:20). He is good and we want to give Him all the praise. This is all to Him, from Him, and for Him!

I also want to say a huge thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to get us to this point. The renovation team, stewardship team, elders, and many others have put in hours of prayer, planning, and meeting to be able to present these concepts and plans. Many have sacrificially given financially and of their time and energy over the past 9-years to get us to the point. God has done so much. The really exciting part is this is just the beginning – the beginning of seeing God do new and amazing things, the beginning of God continuing to shape us into the church and family He wants us to be, and the beginning of seeing God use us lead people to follow Jesus. God is good!

On December 3 (and 10), following several months of planning and collaborative work, we were able to present the following plans and dreams for our church facility.

We bought the building, knowing it would work well for us, but it would be tight. Since then, though, we’ve grown and the desire and need for the added space is even greater.

Here’s what the space could look like! We know buildings communicate identity and values. We want it to be clear that what matters to us (and we believe to God) are people and relationships. There will be spaces where people are encouraged to hang out, spend time together, pray together, and doing life together. The same is true for our kids. We can picture families spending time hanging out during the week, being excited about their church, and having a place to connect to see what God is doing in each other’s lives.

While “The Dream” is what we believe God has led us to and what we believe we will need, we are also committed to not go into excessive debt to make this happen. The church is about ministry not buildings and too much debt would steal resources from ministry. We also know God’s plans and timing are not always our own. We hope to raise what is needed over the next few months, but we also have a potential step 1 plan to be able to move ahead as we see how God provides over the next few months.

During church on Sunday, I promised the church we’d stop talking about the building for a few weeks and enjoy Christmas. Everyone seemed ok with that : ). So for now, here’s where we’re at. Please be in prayer. There’s much God wants to do over the next few months and many decisions to be made. I’m confident He will continue to lead the way for us. Can’t wait to see all He does and all the lives that are changed by Him. We’ll keep you posted. God is good. Have a great Christmas! – Pastor Josh
