What comes to your mind when you hear the word FAMILY? Maybe it’s feelings of joy and support. Maybe it’s thoughts of pain, heartache, and confusion. Whatever it is, that word FAMILY can surface a lot of different things. Family is the most basic and foundational building block of human relationships and is designed to give us all of the most important ingredients of human relationships – love, care, safety, growth and of course joy.
But what happens when family is broken or isn’t there? In all honesty, we’re left to fend for ourselves, figure things out on our own, struggle through deep hurts, ultimately hurt others. A lot has happened over the course of the past few years to crush our families. But we firmly believe family matters; to us and to God!
See, God is building a family! A family that is not based on blood relationships but on His Son Jesus Christ. God also cares about your family! It’s from Him and through Him that we learn to treat each other with respect and care and support each other through all the ups and downs of life.
